Student Co-Contribution Fee
It is a State requirement that students pay a co-contribution towards the cost of their training and assessment.
For the Certificate III Guarantee Program ABSynergies charges a standard fee of $100.
This co-contribution is reduced to $50 for concessional students, which includes, but is not limited to, students who are not able-bodied, Health-Card holders and indigenous students.
Student contribution fees under the User Choice program are set at $1.60 per nominal hour for each unit of competency/module. All RTOs are mandated to charge this fee.
Co-contribution fees must be paid in full at, or before enrolment and before any training or assessment takes place.
In the event that a state funded student cancels, ABSynergies will refund an amount equal to the value of any units of competency that the student has paid for but were not delivered. A full refund of tuition fees will be issued if no units of competencies have been delivered.
Co-contribution will not be charged for:
- credit transfer
- transitional gap training — when transitioning a student from a superseded qualification to the new qualification
- student cohorts exempt from paying fees as specified in the relevant program policy or guidelines. For example: Queensland Year 12 graduates: who enrol in a high-priority qualification and commence training within 12 months of completing Year 12.
